Hi, We went as a group of 6 people and overall had a great time! Positives: o The guide Dario was very friendly and knowlegable and helpful for the oldest person in our party. He speaks good English and Spanish. o The tour is like "jungle light" and so was fine given our age range (mid-age to senior) and the... More

Great guide, great place, great location, good food, but we didn´t get the room we booked (We requested a room with a double bed and got one with three small beds, very unconfortable when you are traveling with your couple) and the logistics from Lago Agrio to the Lodge were an incredible disaster. Two small ditails that did make a... More

The lodge is fine. Staff is friendly.... but we, and half of our group, became very sit of the food we eat. Even back home we 'enjoyed' two more weeks this bacterial infection and diarrhea....

Jamu is a cute and secluded lodge with capacity of 42 (soon to increase to 50), set 15mn downstream from Laguna Grande, the centre of action for most of the lodges in this area. Other lodges around the Laguna Grande are as secluded as Jamu. We were on a 5-day tour with good weather throughout and “only” 11 people in... More

We were picked up and driven to the river where we ate lunch with the rest of the group and then climbed into our motorised canoe. The journey to the lodge took about 3 hours as we stopped every time our keen eyed guide noticed something we might be interested in. We saw many different species of monkeys, multi coloured... More

returned from the Jamu Lodge having had an amazing time in the Amazon! I recommend booking thru Jamu. It's the cheapest of all the other lodges and our group was the smallest (9 ppl total) compared to the larger groups we saw on the boats of the other lodges. the weather was warm to hot at times, of course. bring... I can highly recommend the Jamu lodge as a place to stay in the Amazon basin. The staff are friendly, the rooms are basic but clean and the trips are well organised. the private rooms with hot water do not have hot water often. Under no circumstances should you use "Rainforestur" travel agency in Quito to book your stay at... More
