Stayed for one night.Very clean. Beautiful house and outdoors. Stayed in the Bird of Paradise room (beautiful). Good private parking lot (though it's on a serious hill). Hosts very friendly. Tasty breakfast (although they could have offered more food). The Internet didn't work at all, which is why this is a four-star review.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We were very nicely accomodated with an early check in. Upon our arrival we asked for a clean bathroom mat. Later, a noted on our bed informed us that it had fallen apart in the wash and a new one would be purchased. That is how shabby it was. This is the... More

On the good side, the inn is clean and the innkeepers very nice. We had the magnolia room, which had an attached parlor. The location is great within walking distance of lots of restaurants. On the bad side, the comforts of a hotel are not here. The furniture is Victorian style and pretty uncomfortable. Breakfast is at 7 am weekdays.... More

My husband and I stayed here for two nights so that I could attend a training class before continuing on for a visit with family. We really enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, we did not get to meet Sheila but Ira was a more than a gracious host on his own. Our room was lovely (the rose room) as were the... More

We stayed 2 nights. On our arrival one of the first things I noticed was the dirty bathroom mat. We asked for a replacement and the owner obliged, but had I said nothing we would have had to step out of the tub onto that dirty mat or else use one of the two really shabby towels allowed per person.... We appreciate our guests who enjoy staying at a National Historic Registered property with antiques. This guest wrote , "I am beginning to think I am not the B&B kind of person". From their comments, this appears true. Wood antiques, which we have in the Inn, sometimes have lighter areas due to their use and age which the experts on... More

After spending a bit of time on the road the Cobb lane b&b was a welcomed luxury. The owner made us feel at home and comfortable as a guest in the inn. He directed us to points of interest and dining establishments as one would address a friend staying over. Our room was spacious, warm and tastefully decorated. Don't miss... More

My husband and I recently stayed here while travelling for the holidays. The house was a delight, the owners clearly put effort into their decorating. The staff was great, especially Kathleen. She greeted us warmly, patiently and knowledgeably answered all of our questions, and gave us delicious, fresh baked cookies from scratch! It felt much more like a "home away... More

We so enjoyed reading this review and their appreciative comments about our Assistant Innkeeper, Kathleen. We screen our staff carefully and she is a wonderful addition to our Inn. We are 3 blocks from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and hire graduate students who are serious students preparing for their careers and appreciate learning about the world from our... More

Decided to stay overnight in Birmingham on Thanksgiving. The B&B is in a great location in the 5 points section of Birmingham near Highland Ave. and what I've been told are some of the best restaurants in this part of the South. It is a beautiful old home and the inn keepers are really nice. I have to say the... More

The Holidays are a wonderful time to visit our Inn. We thank this guest for coming during Thanksgiving when some guests are vacationing in the warm Southern climate from colder states and Canada. Others are visiting their young adult children who are students at nearby Universities but don't have enough room for their folks to stay with them. Sometimes there... More

I'm sorry to say that we didn't enjoy our stay here at all. The decor of the B&B is not to our taste (overflowing with dolls and kitsch furnishings), but that wasn't the problem. We knew what the rooms looked like before we booked and that's not why we didn't enjoy it. The problem was cleanliness - the B&B was... More

It is our policy that our guests be 100% pleased with their stay or else they should be refunded. We don't know who this guest was to make this offer to them. The guest did not speak to us at the time of the visit so we can't validate or respond to some of their comments. The guest review sounds... More

Great location, great conversations at breakfast with other guests and inn keeper. Lovely collection of antiques. The breakfast was excellent. The fresh cookies daily were a nice treat.
