Yes beds were very hard, service perfunctory and we experienced a terrible school show as part of our "entertainment. " Hotel seemed clean though, the best facility was a roof garden on floor above the bar where sharing your bottles of wine with friends gave by far the best view and entertainment.

The hotel is a little tired and the beds incredibly hard, but the staff are friendly and cheerful. It was disappointing to find one was charged for using the tea/coffee in the room, but at least there was a kettle available. The hotel is very nicely situated, by the river, and handy for the town centre.

What a let down, all our other hotels were of very high standard, while this was more like Fawlty Towers. The beds were brick hard, food terrible and staff were off hand. This was not what we found elsewhere.
