Great, room, great attention. The hostel is clean, well organised. The view was amazing, good places to drink a beer are close to the hostel. Maybe I'll find some days a breakfast outside the hostel, cause is always the same.

The hostel itself is OK; rooms and beds are comfy, its clean, there are kitchen facilities and computers with internet. The price is right for a hostel in Brazil and the location St Teresa/Lapa is very good. Still I did NOT have a good experience! This has everything to do with the staff, who are just so incredibly unfriendly and... More

We were in a double room with bathroom, without hot water and very small size, close to the kitchen and with noise all night long. Poor Breakfast and no service at all. At night the best option is to take a taxi because is a dangerous area.

There are beautiful views over Rio from this top-floor hostel. The beds were comfy, the facilities all in place, and I liked Rio Hostel's style. Although I didn't make any use of either, there's a bar and a swimming pool on the roof, so if you get a crowd together, there's that potential for a fun night in. When you... More

First, if this is your first time in Rio don't get ripped off on the taxi from the airport like we did. It should be 50-60 BR but we paid 125 (and felt like morons). The private rooms are ok but not amazing and certainly did not look the photos online. Our window was also made of wood so if... More

First we didn't find the hostel and stayed a night in the other place. And when we did, NOBODY OPENED THE GATE. Finally there was some workmen coming out so we could get in.THE ROOM WAS AWFUL, it was dormitory and such a mess and the air was not able to breath. We asked for a private room, but they... More

I stayed here for a very high price during Carnival. Had a brand new 'Standard Superior Suite' with private bathroom. The only reason I paid for this room was because I booked late and they told me they had no other rooms (which was not true). The room (Number 10) was clean (just built) but small, toilet leaked, shower leaked,... More

The biggest concern was the fact I had arranged to be picked up at the airport and no one was there. I arrived at midnight. My Portuguese is very limited. First time to Rio and Brazil. After double checking and confirming I would be picked up from the airport no one arrived. After waiting 45 mins I got a taxi... More

We stayed there for two night in a private room with bathroom. It is a typical hostel, but it is pretty clean, the staff speaks English - an exceptional experience in Brazil - and they are very helpful. There is room service, free internet, several computers, which actually work. The breakfast is fine, even though it is nothing special. The... More

Spent three nights there and wasnt hugely impressed. It's a nice house but services were lacking - # it's hard to get any real advice from the staff about getting around by bus or metro. You get an old copy of a map and someone quickly tells you, take the bus here and you will be fine. In general receptionists... More
