When I arrived at the hotel the front desk seemed genuinely willing to help me out. I thought that was a good start. The hotel does face a main road so I asked if I could get one facing away from the road. I was in luck. I had room #1103 and it did not really have a view. However,... More

On my second night in Rio I switched to the hotel which was booked by the tour operator I traveled with through South America. Not all my mates were as satisfied then I but for my experience it was an improvement from the night before in the Atlantis Copacabana .... nice clean room, enough space for two room-mates who met... Good points: Close to both Ipanema and Copacabana Good Breakfast Staff friendly Good internet Bad Points No air con in public areas No soundproofing between rooms / corridor. We were greeted with view of a 4 star foyer but the room came more like a 3 star. We got a small room at the back with unsightly views of other rooftops. Deco in desperate need of renovation. Can do with a new air-con and bathroom exhaust too. Linen need replacement too for it looked worn and faded. Dining... More

First the good bits: 1. Close to both Copacabana and Ipanema. 2. Fantastic breakfast selection - especially the tropical fruits. 3. Very responsive front of house - Carla on the front desk was amazing! Friendly and helpful with loads of recommendations and a can-do attitude. Not so good bits: 1. The hotel itself is a bit tired and worn. 2.... More

Had a wonderful stay exploring rio from this excellent base, you feel extremely safe in this area and its equal distance (3 blocks) from ipanena and copacabana beaches. Good selection for breakfast but this is a very very tired warn out property. The staff are ok, but service is overall not great, my room was not serviced one day, despite... More

Most facilities were above standard.Breakfast choices were excellent,Bedrooms were great. The downfall was in the lounge bar where the service was slow -took 10 mins to be served and the same to receive our drinks. The Internet only had 1 computer available.

Its hard to get a good hotelin Rio without having to pay a fortune. This place is a bit of an exception to that. Good location between Copacabana and Ipanema. Rooms are small and with worn furniture. Beds are ok, but dont the match the price you have to pay. Quite clean though. Breakfast is worth getting up for and... More

We spent 3 nights here over new years eve, we chose this hotel purely on location and price. We had a few issues when we checked in, we walked into the first room to find that the room was already occupied, the 2nd room we were given stank of smoke, the 3rd room had 2 single beds! They arranged to... More
