First off, you can't beat the location - one block to Ipanema, three blocks to Copacabana in a safe, attractive neighbourhood, three blocks from a Metro station. We were on the 8th floor and we could see Ipanema, but we're usually gone early and back late. Rather than look at the beaches, I'd rather be on them. If the room... More

I just got back from out trip to south america and this hotel was probably the worst we encountered it was not clean, there was no natural sunligh, the toilet was loose on its footings, and the free wifi never worked in the room. i would pay the extra next time and go somewhere a little more better sc More

There are a couple of good things to say about this hotel, most notably the friendly staff, the free and fast internet access, and the good size of the rooms. However at over EUR 130 per room (for my booking), it is just terribly overpriced. The rooms are really faded with tired, cheap and tasteless furniture, rustic and loud ACs,... More

Price not too bad for the location, if you turn right you're in Ipanema, turn left and you're in Copacabana (or maybe the other way around? haha not sure now). Friendly staff, breakfast was okay, clean and quite rooms. The only complaint is the air conditioner which seemed to stop working from time to time. More

I have stayed in this hotel in 2005 and back then the hotel was also ok and good value for money. I now came back in december 2011 and directly noticed that they renovated almost the entire hotel. Hotel around the Copacopabana and Ipanema area are basically all expensive for what you get. So keeping that in mind this was... More

We stayed here 4 nights in August 2011. First time in Rio and the location of the hotel was important for us. The hotel is located in a quiet and safe area, very close to all beaches (5 min). Besides the location, we did'nt think the hotel was worth the money. The room was ok, the bathroom small. The breakfast... More

Stayed there in July 2011 for a weekend trip to Rio and overall impressions: - clean - a little bit old fashioned and my room was really small - staff speaks english - easily reachable from Copacabana and Ipanema by foot At that time they renovated the restaurant etc. As I didn't took breakfast, I can't judge it but for... My friend and I stayed at this property for six days [ Jan 2012 ]. It is very well located, close to both Copacabana and Ipenema beaches- 5 mins walk. If you book in advance you get excellent pricing too. We stayed on the 11th floor and had a fabulous view of the beach and the ocean. The air-conditioning was... More

The location is the best thing about this hotel. You can walk to either of the two main beaches. The neighbourhood is very pleasant and felt safe even when we walked home about ten blocks from the Vinicius Bar after 1:00 AM. Here is the thing: you don't want to be told “look it up on the Internet” each time... More

In our research of Rio hotels, we were not sure what alternative choices are, and how much they cost. The issue with rating this hotel is that it is clearly NOT a four star hotel. But on our trip, four star hotels cost 3x as much. But this is not a dumpy hotel either -- its actually quite large with... More
