Nice little B&B in the Santa Teresa area, the room was a good size and the breakfast ok. We found it quite expensive for what it was, but to be honest i think Rio is generally very expensive so it probably fits well into the area's price bracket! In hindsight we would of rather of stayed somewhere a bit busier... More

In June 2012 we stayed 3 nights at "Casa de Renata". Renata is a well informed, extremley friendly host, she gave us very good tips for our stay in Rio.She speaks English very well. The old house is very tasteful furnished and decorated, the good breakfast is served at a beautiful terrace. Santa Teresa is a charming neigbourhood, the Metro... More

Our stay at Casa da Renata during Carnival was very pleasant. The host, Renata, was accomadating and helpful and could speak English well. It was so nice to have a comfortable place to stay while we were enjoying the city and all the carnival activities. Her place is situated in the quaint area of Santa Teresa where you can walk... We spent the weekend at Case de Renata before heading to Buzios and Renata took really good care of us - showing us maps and places to eat/view and lending us her umbrella when the thunderstorms came! Breakfast under the tropical canopy with her 4 tortoises was amazing and the best way to start the day. Great bars and restaurants... More

We spent one week at Renata's and we loved it. The house is beautiful, the rooms are large and it has terraces where we take great breakfast. It's located in one of the best areas in Rio (according to me) called Santa Tereza. Renata is nice, helpful, funny and take care of her hosts. I recommand the place and would... More

Casa da Renata was a pleasant surprise in Rio de Janeiro. Staying in the are of Santa Teresa was a great choice to know the bohemian and traditional part of Rio. Casa da Renata is cosy, beautiful and comfortable. Let alone the kindness of the owner and the bugios (little monkeys) in the backyard. We loved it! Manuela Holtz

I stayed here for two nights and was wowed by this amazingly unique house. Stunning! Great location, in the heart if Santa Teresa. Renata is a warm, kind, welcoming and helpful host who will ensure that your stay is special. This is for you if you want quirky Brazilian Rio rather than the bigger tourist hotels. I hope to stay... We stayed here for our last 3 nights of a 8-month RTW trip and did not regret our choice at all. Renata is very kind & welcoming, with useful knowledge of the area & ideas of things to do no matter what the weather. We loved the fresh fruit & bread at breakfast, plus the company of 2 lovely tortoises... More

The B&B is located in the pretty Santa Teresa, about 15 minutes on foot from the Metro (or a short bus ride). The rooms are spacious and clean, with friendly and helpful people to great and look after you. There is a shared bathroom, which is clean, but may not suit all. Just a short walk (5mins) and you have... More
