We were stranded after we couldn't get into the hotel we'd originally booked. When we rang at the gate here late at night, the gentleman couldn't offer us a room, but spend a good hour and a half on the phone finding us a hotel. What a lovely thing to do, he pretty much saved our short stay in Rio... More

We spent 5 nights in this splendid Pousada on the edge of the national park and a short walk from the train to the "Corcovado" and "Christo Redentor". Helena and her son Diogo have been excellent host and have been really helpful during our stay. The house and park are stunning with the odds Marmoset monkeys turning up early morning... More

My girlfriend and I stayed for four nights and we thoroughly recommend this B&B. Right from Diogio's airport collection and tour back to the B&B and Valerie's tasty welcome caihphirina, we were treated to wonderful family hospitality. It is a historic building with gardens, in a beautiful setting, situated in the rainforest at the foot of Corcovado mountain (with the... More

I want to thank Helena for being a good hostess during our 2 night stay in Rio de Janeiro. Helena made us feel welcome to her house and treated us nicely during our stay. I booked my stay online and Helena always gave updates, during the process. I appreciate the way she gave directions to the taxi driver who brought... More

My wife and I stayed here for a couple nights. The hospitality and attention to detail were exceptional. The other guests we met at breakfast and around the house were nice, and talking with them was enjoyable. Staying at the Casa Caminho do Corcovado, you will feel like a special guest in someone's home, rather than an anonymous guest, as... More

Helena and her family welcomed us literally with open arms. The house is spotless and well appointed. Breakfast is fantastic. We stayed in the Toucan room with an en suite, which was very comfortable. Toucans and monkeys live in the beautiful gardens. Helena made our stay in Rio very memorable. Thank you!

This B&B is located on the side of Corcovado Mtn. Really lovely setting in a historic home. Hosts Diogo and Helena helped arrange day trips, gave great advice about where to go and how to get there. I felt like I was treated like a family friend. It is not near the beach or the noise, but accessible to them... More

I was at Casa Caminho from Dec 28 to Jan 3 with my two children (age 21 and 16). It was our first visit to Brazil and I was a little worried even if I'm kind of an experienced traveler. I must admit that my experience with Helena, Valeria and Diogo at Casa Caminho went far beyond my best expectations... More

Our flight arrived late at night but Diogo was waiting for us at the airport on arrival. He spoke good English and pointed out places of interest en route to the hotel. Helena welcomed us with one of her famous caipirinhas. We stayed in the bungalow which I would describe as rustic and pretty basic. Shortly after entering, I heard... More

We enjoyed our stay but have some reservations. Helena is a wonderful host, breakfast was excellent, and Casa Caminho is a lovely, peaceful place, very welcome in the bustle of Rio. Our room was clean and comfortable. However, since Rio is such a big city, our location meant we couldn't walk to any sights other than the Corcovado tram. The... More
