I recently stayed at the GrandStay Hotel & Suites in Appleton, WI with four other friends for a ladies' get-away! The hotel is close to shopping and restaurants, the rooms are comfortable and clean, along with friendly and helpful staff at an affordable price. Very convenient - close to hwy 41- in an area with a lot of stores and restaurants. Maybe not as charming as the hotels downtown- but ideal if you are looking for something child friendly and reasonably priced. Parking very convenient.
