Detailed Reviews
Upon arrival, you have the option to check in electronically (which I thought was nice), or you could go to a customer service rep behind the counter. The entrance of the hotel is beautiful, well kept and neat. We loved our room (regular room with king sized bed), and the shower pressure & water temperature was absolutely delightful. The ice machine was conveniently located on our floor (the 12th floor), and although we didn't have a great view - the window we did have provided just enough natural lighting for the room.

The check in process is speedy and good, the front line staffs are friendly and know exactly what I want. After traveling on airplane ride and waiting for a shutter to arrive, all you want to do when you get to a hotel is to get checked in quickly and refreshments. And Hyatt Regency did that, she did it in a swift manner, the free 2 bottles of water daily is a life saver because god knows we need hydration after the long plane ride. The only thing that leave me in a bad taste is the Cinnabun restaurant, I feel like the staffs can get training on how to genuinely care for their customers. I feel like $25 + breakfast buffet was okay, but the croissant is super dry and hard, it should have more selections instead of looking like Hyatt Place free breakfast. They omelette is made fresh, and the oatmeal is delicious. The waitress and staffs are not as friendly, at least I feel like they pretend to be friendly ( you can tell because of their lack of enthusiasm) and they made the guests wear gloves when getting their food, but I hardly see the waitress or greeter do hand hygiene??

Good Day KarenL7569WH, Thank you for taking time to leave feedback on your visit. We are happy to hear our check in process is speedy and the front desk staff were friendly. It is great that you enjoyed the two free water bottles daily. We appreciate the feedback on the Cinnabar and our breakfast buffet to better our services. We apologize if the staff were anything but friendly. We are delighted you enjoyed the omelette and the oatmeal and do apologize that the croissant was dry and hard. We appreciate the insight on the gloves and hand hygiene and apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for staying with us and we hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back soon! Warm regards, Tonya

Got a good deal on Priceline. I found my room to be completely clean and in great condition. Check-in was super fast and most importantly, the room was clean and felt comfortable in light of the pandemic. I was given a packet of disinfectant wipes at check-in, which I then used to wipe down the room. Given the airport is so close to the hotel, I asked the hotel about walking and was advised against it do to the lack of sidewalks. The shuttle leaves the hotel for the airport every 20 minutes in the morning (e.g., 6:00, 6:20, 6:40), and takes less than 5 minutes. I didn't arrive via the shuttle and can't comment on that process.

I was shocked that housekeeping at this hotel had been reduced to once in four days. This policy was not disclosed when I made my reservation. The check-in agent told me I could call housekeeping if I wanted my room cleaned. So I did call on the morning of 5/18 and was told that my room would be cleaned, but it never was. If Hyatt guests really want to opt out of room cleaning, I suppose Hyatt could give them that option, but for those of us who want clean rooms and bathrooms, this property falls far short of the housekeeping standards that Hyatt once stood for. If they are really concerned about Covid, they could require employees and guests to have proof of vaccination (they do not). But if they want to take advantage of the pandemic to cut back staff, erode guest standards, and cheapen the Hyatt brand name; they are all set - no further policy changes are required!

My wife and I stayed four days in February and were very pleased with everything about this hotel. The courteous check-in, the excellent breakfast buffet.....with omelets and waffles made to order, scrambed eggs, bacon and sausage, great juices and fresh fruit, hot and cold cereal, premium coffee, yogurt and pastries, etc. etc,
Our room had the most comfortable hotel mattress we have experienced in a couple of years, US made linens, excellent modern furnishings and TV, very good internet service, and a top of the line Andis hairdryer.
We wish to compliment the friendly, efficient staff, and whoever is the general manager of this hotel for providing a virtually perfect hotel experience.
And as a previous reviewer stated the shuttle service to the airport and the Metro was friendly and timely.....we used both the airport and the Metro connection.

Stayed 2 days for a quick stop over before my next flight out of the USA. Clean big room, good location. Valet only parking however on weekends you can park outside the hotel on the road for fraction of the cost, car was safe overnight. Modern new hotel.

First room was a deluxe that was very nice and spacious but we had a door between our room and the room adjacent ours. Our neighbors were incredibly loud, vulgar, and smoking weed in their room that came through the door between us leaving our room smelling heavily of weed. Hotel staff claim to have called to tell them to reduce the noise but they never changed how loud they were. We eventually requested to be moved and were given a smaller room that was a “high rise” that faced the wall of the building next to us so the view was lackluster. You can tell they attempt to have nice rooms but when you look a little closer you can see it’s still somewhat cheap. Paint on the walls are bubbling and the carpets could use a good cleaning.

Stayed for a comic con. This was my 4th year. Every year the elevators and the air condition seems to be broken. Even after being promised it would not be an issue this year. I did call corporate during my stay and things seem to magically be fixed after that. previous stayed they were broken the entire time. the 1st day (Thursday) there was a snow cone lady next to the front desk. Went up to the room came down she was gone. Didn't see her the rest of the weekend. The front desk could not figure out how to slip the room charges, which was annoying because called before hand and they told us it was something we could do. There are no microwaves in any of the rooms. Only microwave is on the 3rd or 4th floor by the pool. Nor real refrigerators. The have "chillers" which do not chill. Does not keep food at all, so if you have left overs just throw them out cause those low temp "chillers" did not even keep my water cool. Front desk was always nice and pleasant. So were other hotel staff. Also when i booked the room I asked to be on the 4th floor by the stairs so I could avoid the elevators when possible, they put me on the 17th floor.

Dear mariaousley, We appreciate you sharing these details about your recent experience at Hyatt Regency Crystal City. We are very sorry that your stay with us did not meet expectations. Your feedback about the elevators and air conditioning are two areas we are currently working to address when large conventions fill our hotel. The Engineering Department works tirelessly to ensure that all reported issues are resolved as quickly as possible. Regarding the microwaves, our hotel is researching better and easier ways that offer our guests ways to reheat their food. We apologize for the inconveniences, though I am glad that your interactions with our hotel staff were nice and pleasant, we are truly fortunate to have such a great team. We hope the next time you come to visit Washington D.C. that you will give Hyatt Regency Crystal City a second chance to make your stay an enjoyable one. I am used to using Hilton Brand hotels that at least offer continental breakfast with the stay or at least a microwave. It did give us the opportunity to explore the city more which was hard amidst so much fear of covid in its early stages. The best part was Marina our room attendant. My husband is disabled so she was able to notify him what are the best areas to eat close by. She also made sure he had all he needed in the room. Our room was kept immaculate. It was a great stay.

I booked 6 rooms fro the Samuel DeWitt Proctor Conference for students to attend. Somehow, one of the rooms did not get the credit card application attached which caused one of the my college students to put the entire bill on his personal card which of course left him with little spending money. Nikko was calm, thorough, and professional. He found the error, applied exceptional service recovery and gave the student vouchers to eat until the refund processed on his card. As a former Director of Operations for Hilton Hotels, Nikko was the consummate professional. I would hire him immediately to be on my team. He was pleasant, attentive, precise, and he got the job down without wasting my time. He should be commended for his efforts. Thank you Nikko for going above and beyond for me and the student.

Ask the hotel they should answer that pretty easy
But it’s a common universal hotel policy
Our room didn't have a microwave; but you can request one. If they don't have any available you are allowed to use the ones in the Lobby on the main floor.
