the innkeepers were so friendly and even built a fire for us outside after dropping us off at lake champlain to see the stars.

If you like to take refuge from your hectic city life or personal problems, the best place to do in Barsen House Inn. The owners, Daphne and Pete, are very open-minded and hospitable people and they are so very much attentive and supporting to your vacation preferences and plans. This was our second trip to the Barsen House Inn. Peter and Daphne are perfect hosts, engaging, intelligent, friendly and present but not invasive. We loved sitting out by the fire pit in the evening with a bottle of wine. We brought our bicycles and enjoyed riding to Middlebury, Vergennes, and Basin Harbor.

I just spent a weekend at the Barsen House Inn and was throughly impressed by the establishment. The food was fantastic and the rooms were well decorated and comfortable. The firepit in the evening was the most relaxing part of the trip and I enjoyed visiting parts of Vermont that were reccommended by the owners. The weather was exceptional which... More

wonderful inn, with excellent collection of art works by various Vermont artists. We loved the beautiful, hand-crafted wood furniture by artist/owner Peter and the delicious breakfasts by hostess/owner Daphne. Both Peter and Daphne were very congenial and helpful with all of our questions. Highly recommended.

My friend and I stayed here for just one night, and this inn was the nicest of all the bed and breakfasts we stayed at in Vermont. The couple who own the house are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We arrived around 8:25pm, and didn't realize that most of the restaurants in Vergennes stop serving at 8:30. The woman who owns... More

We were fortunate enough to stay at Barsen House Inn, but only for a single night (*sigh*). Peter and Daphne Jensen are the perfect hosts: attentive but not invasive. We never knew they were there except when they were serving us. Not that they are not personable -- just the opposite. They were such interesting people! The Inn is really... More

We spontaneously decided to visit northern Vermont. I e-mailed on Friday, hoping for a one night stay Saturday. I heard back from Daphne immediately and I called to confirm. She recommended a lovely Bistro in Vergennes and from dinner through our one-night stay everything was charming! The Moonlight Room was appointed beautifully: clean and comfortable, complete with gorgeous artwork and... More

Thanks to Peter and Daphne for opening their beautiful home to me during my ski trip to Vermont! After a long drive from Montreal, I was welcomed with a tasty home cooked meal and a warm fire. The Moonlight room was cozy and I especially enjoyed the handcrafted furniture and art pieces throughout the Inn. I will be back for... More
