This lodge gives you the real "mountain feeling" - it is right on the slopes and has a mountaing lodge and not a motel feeling. The rooms are not luxurious, but everything necessary is there. Food is quite good, and the hotel has a cool bar.

Charming plain hotel with London or New York prices. Great staff and wholesome food. Great coffee. But the 1980s vibe is poorly matched with up to the minute prices

Just leaving our Alta vacation. Upon arrival our room was warm, within two hours had reached 90! We made front desk aware and after an unsuccessful visit from maintenance they moved us to a room without direct midday sunlight. We still had an amazing view. We actually kept the windows open the majority of the time so the room would... More

This is a great place to go if you are focused on skiing and hanging out with family. The food and rooms certainly take a back seat but that is not their focus. Everyone is helpful and it seems like they really enjoy their work. We had a great time!

I am sitting in the SLC airport reflecting on my Alta Lodge experience, and felt compelled to share my appreciation for this amazing institution. I travel 50+ nights a year for business, and often stay in very nice hotels. Never have I found the character, "feel" and warmth of the Alta Lodge. It is the perfect skiing experience - right... Alta is a ski lodge at a mountain where all the action is skiing. No snowboarding, no full-service spas (though they offer massage), no night life, no fast food. They often book a year in advance, and almost everyone comes back (We've been more than 15 times). They book your shuttle from and to the airport, cheerfully carry your bags... More

Alta Lodge is one of those special places that you know you will return to again and again. You feel like you are at home when you are there. You can tell the family prides themselves on each guest's experience. And, the food is amazing! I look forward to coming back.

Alt a Lodge is one of those places that we do not think exists anymore. It is a family operation and feels appropriately warm and friendly. I have been several times and the experience is consistent year to year with only improvements as you become honorary family. The skiing cannot be beat and the Alta ski school has some incredible... I have just returned from a ski clinic called "Powder Tracks." It is a four day program run as a joint effort between the Alta Lodge and he Alf Engen Ski School at Alta. Not much powder, but the experience at Alta Lodge was uniformly excellent. This is a ski lodge, not a modern hotel. If it is a modern... More
