I recently booked and reserved a recent tripped through this hotel after reading great reviews. I booked in a week in advance in which I received an email saying a confirmation email will be sent shortly through my inbox and not my spam box. After a few days of worrying and nearing the the date I needed a hotel I... More

This is old school charm and luxury, with modern amenities, but the staff is what makes this hotel great. From the time I checked in to the time I checked out, it was as if I was truly a welcome guest. They were courteous, friendly and several knew me by name. The concierge arranged a hotel tour for me, on... More

We went to visit friends who live in Austin but wanted our own space. This worked out perfectly. Our room had no view out the back but it was quiet and comfortable with high ceilings so it didn't feel claustophobic. Bathroom was very nicely appointed. It definitely has that old Texas cattleman vibe which is part of its charm. Once... More

I have to travel to Austin for work and was tired of cheap hotels in the middle of urban nowhere. The Driskill was a nice change, it gives one a sense of Texas history. The room itself was nicely decorated, but a strange layout, and the windows opened to a very narrow air shaft. Room service was good, not outstanding.... More

I was very excited about staying at this hotel due the the history, location, and reviews. I had a historic suite in the main building. Upon checking in let me begin to list my disappointments to me and my girlfriend: Our suite had a view of a emergency exit ladder and run down building, the room though said it had... More

The bed was extremely comfortable. I was in the "tower" it was added in the 20's I think and it was great. No noise. Wish I could have been in the older building where you could have watched the 6th street activity. Best location in Austin. Will definitely stay there again. Service was great. Called down for towels and they... More

Probably the best hotel for $200 you'll find in Austin. Great location, within walking distance to almost everything. Will continue to stay there while in Austin.

My wife and I just had the five course chef sampling. Each of the courses from the beet salad to the boar chop was superb. Maybe a bit salty but that may just reflect my own limited salt diet. Every dish really was a work of art with a wonderful array of tastes to match. The evening went so well... More

Chose this hotel for its historic roots and location to the night life of Austin. If you prefer clone style chain, hotels, this will be a departure. It has the elegance, style and vibe that is authentic to hotels in the early to mid 1900's. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. Everyone we encountered had that Texas super-friendly... The Hotel quoted us a rate and charged us double. The Manager would not help amend the bill, said there was nothing he could do. I've never been more mislead in my life. Horrible experience!!
