I'm on a road trip to the Northwest. It's close to the highway, a "famous" restaurant, and takes pets. Honestly, it looked a little creepy, so I was pleasantly surprised. Sure, it's a bit old inside, but it was clean and functional.

Don't ask for the smoking room - terrible internet connection. Apparently Smokers have to be placed in the back - with no or very poor internet connection. But apart from that - fun .. Kind of kitch. We were looking for an authentic cowboy experience on Route 66 and this hotel definitely fit the bill. It was far better than we expected. The rooms were very cowboy and nicely decorated. Needed a hotel that was pet friendly and we thought we would try the Big Texan Motel this time through Amarillo. We stoped at the office to check in and find no non-smoking rooms available. They only have pet friendly smoking rooms and the won't even give a discount. So for a whopping $95 you get one of the worst... More

Stayed here after a long drive from Houston and whilst the staff were very friendly the rooms were very outdated. It was clean enough and looked pretty from the outside and as it was only for 1 night we were not too choosy. Stayed here after a long drive in from Colorado. While on the outside the decor looks charming, my 'non smoking' room reeked of old smoke and even had cigarette burns on the fiberglass tub. Clean Motel - Heat/AC Units are from the Dark Ages. Ours didn't work well. More of a trucker type place to stay but convienient to Hwy and Big Texan Restaurant. So-so motel for a moderately cheap price. One part of this motel takes pets, so a big plus for dog owners. Entire place is clean and service is friendly.
