We had a hard time finding a decent place to stay in KL, and then we came across Serai Inn on the agoda website. What a great budget hotel! We stayed here twice. The first room we had on the main floor was great. The bed was super comfortable, it was quiet and dark and night time. The 2nd room... More

We arrived late afternoon and were leaving early the next morning. It was ideal for the cheap bus from the LCCT, and perfect for the bus station and lots of veggie restaurants nearby which was all we were looking for. On arrival they were really helpful about telling us where to go and how to get there. Although, they did... More

I enjoyed my stay at serai inn, the man who I spoke to when I arrived was very helpful, he even took the time to go through a map of KL with me and recommend places to go and how to get there....The rooms were clean, bathrooms were as clean as I have seen in Malaysia and was a very... More

at all hours of the night, then this is the place for you. Walls the thickness of cardboard and inconsiderate inmates... oops, I mean guests, make for no sleep. Plus the little tiny ants that live in the closet sized rooms will cause itching all night while youre laying awake listening to all the inconsiderate jerks conversing. Luckily, the bathrooms... I really liked this place. The staff were more helpfull than you can imagine, helping us book a taxi to the airport for a good price. They were always helpfull to point us in the right direction and supplied us with maps. The rooms are small, but you're in KL and the place is so cheap! Only a 5 minute... More

I arrived late at night, but the instructions they'd emailed to me enabled me to find the place without too much trouble. I panicked when I saw the door was locked, but then it occurred to me to sound the buzzer, and the night staff opened the door for me. My single room was small, bed and air-con only, but... More

We are a couple with a child and paid RM96/night to stay in a 4 single bed room at Serai Inn. The room was sparsely furnished, with only the 4 beds and air conditioner in the room (no table/chairs and therefore no where to put bags/clothes). There was wifi but was pretty useless on the top floor. However the room... More

Nice, clean hostel with very friendly, helpful and informative staff. Our double room was very small, as you’d expect, but the corridors were light and airy and the common room on the top floor was pleasant and spacious. I really liked the location which was slightly further out of Chinatown than most of the other hostels, but within easy walking... More

The management/staff of this hostel don't seem to have any idea what a backpacker requires in a hostel. I arrived around 4pm with a 18kg pack and even though there is an elevator in this building, it was, as is usual in Asia and India, not operating! OK so up the stairs to be greeted offhandedly by a distracted female... More

As the owner of Serai Inn, I am writing this in response to Miss Lyndy’s review in order to give a fair picture of my hostel. First of all, the lift was disabled due to security reasons. We are not the sole tenant of the building. The ground and 1st floor belong to other tenants. Disabling the lift prevents people... More

This hostel is indeed perfect for backpackers and an excellent value. Rooms are tiny but clean and friendly. Security is very good, location is central, close to important things and yet very quiet. Also, they have a very nice and friendly hang out place. I was a bit concerned initially about sharing the bathroom facilities, but as I was saying--very... More
