This is exactly what a ryokan is about... service, service, service. You genuinely feel valued and are made to feel comfortable during your stay. It is centrally located in a small back street just 5 minutes walk from the main JR train station. The rooms are very clean and in a traditional Japanese style. The food was amazing and the... More

I've stayed at the Fujiwara Ryokan while in Nagasaki and had a great experience. The room was quite spacious and it had its bathroom and also toilet room. The breakfast was quite tasty too. The access is a plus, within a walking distance to many sightseeing spots and the Central Station.

We stayed here for three night in the second week of February and the conclusion is simple: this is an excellent place to stay. We opted for the private room with attached bathroom. After having spent two days in a rather cramped business hotel in Hiroshima we were very pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room. It was truly... More

Excellent stay. Excellent owner. Why stay at a hotel that looks the same all around the world... the ryokan offers an idea of traditional Japan and other possible ways of living… It is all in the details.

Very clean, appealing room. Japanese breakfast, for those that like it, was very good (and great miso soup one morning that even had enoki mushrooms in it). We had the room with shared bath and it was just fine, though ofuro water was very hot! Owner is very accommodating. We slept very soundly on futons and enjoyed tea in our... More

My travel companion and I spent a lovely three nights here. The man I presume to be the owner was very warm and allowed us to eat breakfast a little later than usual. Bathroom and toilets are shared with the other guests but are kept clean. The wifi signal was weaker than we could have hoped for but we werent... More

Off the bat I should say that it's worth it to call them to check availability (or get someone who speaks Japanese to for you). Both the Japanese and English websites I went through initially said they were fully booked for the Thurs and Fri we were in town. I snatched up the one available room for Fri and when... More

This was a great little Ryokan. We felt instantly at home and relaxed here. The lovely host couple brought us hot tea to our room on arrival which was perfect after a long train ride and they really made an effort to make our stay wonderful. The initial walk from the station is a little frustrating with baggage but it... More

This ryokan is some 10 minutes walk from Nagasakis main train station. A very friendly old man ran things and made us feel very welcome. We felt immediately at home in this nice ryokan. The sleeping mats were good and the internet fast. We were sad that we only planned for one night in nagasaki.

This ryokan is located in a modern building within walking distance of the main railway station and close to a tram stop. It's in a quiet back street. Our room was lovely - spacious tatami room, with a balcony area. We didn't have an ensuite toilet but the shared one was just outside our door. It was great also having... More
