Stayed in a tatami room for 1 night. The hotel locates near Namba Station (within 5 mins walk). Big room, clean place. It's just USD90 for 1 night, a good try for traditional japanese style hotel!

Could not want a better location. Next to main shopping area and train station. Get to see the busy streets below but from the comfort of a very clean and spacious room on the 8th-10th floor of a highrise. Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast. Will stay here again for sure.

The room was excellent and staff were very helpful. Rooms were much bigger than other Japanese hotels. Room service was also good. Good bathroom facilities. A little hard to find initially but very conveniently located. Would definitely stay there again.

We stayed at hotel ichiei for four nights, with our children aged 9 and 12. We were very happy with our room which was a ten mat tatami, sunny, spacious, and nice outlook to street below. Wanted a tatami experience but ended with backache due to the thin mattress given. Location is good but with the price, there are better choice like hotel monterey. Floor is noisy to walk on due to the mat on the floor hence opt out if you are a light sleepers staying in one room with friends or family.

We booked a 52 square meter Japanese style room for three people and it surely is the biggest hotel we had in Japan. The room could easily fit in five or six people. The room has wonderful views of the city and has a separate sitting room and a "reception area" for where you remove your shoes before going in.... More

Stayed here at the beginning of October and while the location is excellent, the hotel is showing signs of age. The furniture and decor is dated and showing signs of wear and tear and gives the overall impression of needing some attention.

Handily located by a major station, this characterful hotel is a pleasant place to stay, with many restaurants and shops nearby. The staff were very charming. The family enjoyed sleeping Japanese style, and slept very well. Not much in the way of facilities, but – if you just want a base – a hard act to beat.
