While in Kyoto, we stayed at both the Budget Inn and Capsule Ryokan and had an excellent experience at both. The staff are very knowledgeable, remarkably proficient in English and willing to help guide you in planning your trip through Kyoto. The price was just about unbeatable for Japan.

Great location - about 7 mins walk from kyoto station. Very clean with all the mod cons..including illuminated automatic toilet seat riser...temed the 'green monster'. When we arrived late at night and were greeted by friendly staff we felt like we were coming 'home'. The actual building seemed quite new and our tatami floored Japanese style room was tiny but perfect for us. All we really did was sleep here as we were busy enjoying Kyoto.
