Hotel Gimmond is well-located within walking distance of the Imperial Palace grounds, local shopping, and a healthy hike to the temple complexes on the east side of Kyoto. Great location, 3 minutes from the train station (Karasuma-Oike), great staff more than happy to help with any request, clean, large rooms which is rare in Japan, and High speed WiFi in the rooms. Walking distance to the Nijo castle, Ponto-Cho, Nishiki Market, and the Sanjo Shopping arcade.

Even before we arrived, I connected the staff for several things: 1. how to get there? 2. Reserving a performance show; and 3) receiving our luggage. They were very competent, responsive and helpful. The hotel was in a good location both bus stops and subway were easily accessible. We stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed our stay very much.
