Nestled in maruyama park - it's a magical, simple traditional ryoken where you fall more in love with it & its surroundings and people who work there with each day. Stayed there for three days : the breakfast, baths, rooms and communal areas are all clean and simply lovely - like you're staying in a japanese home.

Right up the back of the park, it's about a 10-15 min walk up the hill from Gion (5-10 mins on the wy back down).
