Bit out of the way but great stay nonetheless. Clean, lovely, warm rooms nice onsen, great bathrooms.

We stayed at this ryokan recently and were quietly surprised at how good it was. The owner speaks enough english to help you get around and it was about 20 mins from JR Kyoto station on the 206 bus.
