This is a good choice for those looking for a quiet, secluded place in a beautiful setting, and don't mind a 20 minute commute into central Kyoto. The Ranzan Hotel is in the Arashiyama area of Kyoto, on the banks of a beautiful river where the river comes out of a gorge from the mountains.
