Like most, we just went to Xi'an to see the warriors. This hotel was very nice, had a fantastic breakfast buffet and really nice rooms. Big, clean, and comfortable with t.v, wi-fi, mini fridge, and hot tea maker (or ramen noodle maker!) Very helpful staff and they all spoke good english if you don't speak chinese. Stayed at Grand Mercure for 2 nights.
Perfect location for visiting Xi'an.
Rooms were a little tired and felt like they needed a refurbishment.
Service was hit and miss.
Breakfast was over at the Sofitel (in the same complex and a much nicer property) and your standard buffet options.
Muslim Street and Warriors the Xi'an highlight!

The Grand Mercure was a great change from hotels with average service and non-English-speaking staff in other hotels around China. The Accor standard of service was unmistakable. Concierge...

The location, away from the main road, makes it a relatively quiet place to sleep. Our room was note very big, but was charming, with a lot of character. Despite the fact that it was a former office...

The Sofitel is the main feature----fantastic choice of restaurants, lovely lobby and other public areas. We (5 of us---in 2 rooms) stayed at the Grand Mercure on the same property, at a lower rate than the Sofitel.

Stayed one night in December 2011. Cost £40 for a double, without breakfast. Room was clean and large. The location is very convenient. I would recommend this hotel.
