This hotel is really good; the junior suites are really comfortable, they have great service (including the business center), the buffet restaurants are exotic and different. It's definitely not like the typical carry-out food found in America. There's different types of vegetables, sauces, and a variety of meats. They have an hourly shuttle service to and from Canton Fair.

Like all Chinese run five star hotels in China, I suspect, there are unending differences between (a) the level of luxury of the physical place itself (Chateau Star River Haiyi Peninsula is genuinely 5 star IMO) and (b) the way the hotel is actually run. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Room is very big and staff is very helpfull. But everything is in a typical Chinese style, and I missed western food, both in the evening and in the morning. Sorry.
