Good value for money if you book directly from Karelia hotel webside avoiding any agencies , they do have 50% off if you book in advance and not very busy month ( like July and august) even thenif you book earlier you can safe a bit of money. Breakfast and costumer service all depends on the team of people who... More

The Karelia hotel is located nearby to park in quite silent area in St. Petersburg. However, the location is a bit far from the centrum, we used the minibus to go to old city (there are direct routes). It was a pleasant stay in that hotel. The breakfast was nice with wide food assortments. I could recommend this hotel for... More

Hotel is a typical 3 star hotel you will find in Russia. Nothing fancy, but ok. The room was more or less clean. The furniture was ok, but I noticed some cigarette burns on the chair. The bathroom was good and the towels were clean. Breakfast was ok, but after 3 days you'll get tired of eating the same food.... More

The customer booked this hotel for me; I must say as a business traveller this is not satifactory: the service in the restaurant is slow, very poor English at the reception and the restaurant, hi-fat Russian style breakfast and no foreign TV programs, only Russian ! The rooms are not bad and quite clean, surrounding a bit dull, there is... More

This hotel has a magnificent breakfast, and the staff is sure friendly! Although it's a little bit of a ride from the city center, it's nothing you can't overcome, and they have free parking, which is cool. I stayed in a standard room, and it was comfy, bright, cosy, and in very good shape.

Having read the previous reviews we approached the Karelia with some trepidation and were very pleasantly surprised. From the outside the hotel and it's surroundings did not inspire confidence. Inside, however rooms and communal areas were modern, comfortable and clean (we stayed on the 7th floor). the staff were helpful, despite not speaking much english. breakfast was varied and although... While I was aware that this hotel is not anywhere near the city centre, I was still surprised with the location and the neighbourhood. To be fair, it is only a 15-20 minute ride by marshrutka to Nevsky Prospekt and the hotel also runs a shuttle at fixed times. But still, one does not want to be stuck in the... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in early July. The general standard of the hotel, bedroom and bathroom was OK. However, the hotel is very far from the city centre and you really feel like you are in the back of beyond. The breakfast is appalling, the worst I experienced throughout my tour in Russia. There is a small bowl... More

My husband and I stayed at this hotel because we were on a tour where the average age of us was 26. The hotel offers several types of rooms. We stayed in the basic room and the rack rate was an average of $150. Firstly, everyone in the group had to change rooms at least once as most of the... More

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere. It is a good 25 minute ride on crowded public transportation to downtown. The front desk staff are very young, unhelpful and speak very little English. They could not help me make an international phone call. It is very difficult to get into one's room since the keys stick. The rooms are... More
