This hotel was more then the pictures can show, a real palace out of the rich history of the city with outstanding service. The location two steps from the Winter Palace right on the Nevsky Prospect, very convenient for visiting the city on business as well as for fun. Enjoyed the personal touch and elegance in both service as well... More

Perfect location, at the corner of Nevsky Prospect, it's an old mansion restaured. Wonderful satutes and stairs get you back to the past. Last two floors were added recently. Fitness centre, swimmingpool, a restaurant on the roof, hairdresser, atm machine. Some rooms have an extra toilette for the guests. Marble bathroom and Hermes amenities. You can choose and change the pillow... More

We have just returned from a four night stay at the Taleon and cannot fault it. It is in a great position for all the sights of St Petersburg and with some of the best staff we come across (Olga on the concierge desk in particular). Originally we had been directed to stay at the Grand Hotel Europe, but when... More

I can not stop myself telling people about the wonderful Taleon. Many nights spent there and in Saint-Petersburg, it will always be the only hotel I ever will book. The personnel, the rooms, the food (except breakfast), the building are just excellent. Restaurant Taleon will please you with excellent russian food, piano music and high-end service. Trust the official pictures.

We stayed here the week before Christmas and loved it. Stunning decor , lavish and opulent; beautifully decorated and fabulously furnished . The staff could not have been more helpful and spoke good English. Never stayed anywhere where the carpet in the lift was changed daily! The breakfast offered everything you could have wanted, and more for breakfast - continental,... More

First, the good: - Ideally located (as well as any other hotel in the city), right on the historic Moika river - Generally good service (but with a caveat -- see below) - A historic building -- this was an 18th century palace of St. Petersburg's first governor, subsequently owned by Eliseyev, one of imperial Russia's most famous merchants; in... We had a fantastic stay at the Taleon, I highly recommend it. Natalia (concierge) was one of the best concierges that I've worked with, ever. Rodian (butler) was also excellent, as were all the ladies at the front desk. I had tons of restaurant resv and they were patient and accommodating. All places were great...Tsar (went twice, which I have... More

The Taleon Imperial Hotel was a wonderful experience. The staff were extremely helpful and took great care of us. The rooms were divine. Linens were perfect and the amenities were top notch. The location was perfect. It's right on Novensky Prospect and walkable to the Hermtage, the Marinsky Theater, the Blood Church and other lovely attractions.

Have just come back from St Petersberg, having spent 4 nights in the Taleon Imperial. A deeply disappointing hotel: all show and no go! Fantastic location and large comfortable rooms, but service from the dark ages. For example, it took 20 minutes to check in because whilst there were 5 staff on duty, only one poor chap was allowed to... More

As this is our first negative comment on Trip Adviser, these complaints have been thoroughly investigated. Twenty minutes to check in a group of 8 guests that arrived on Monday at midnight when there was only one Receptionist rostered on, could be understandably irritating for a weary traveler, but in all fairness was no more than five minutes per room....
