This hotel is huge, but very old. The corridors are very dingy, the elevators are jolty and quite scary to use! Most of the rooms are really old - we were first placed on the 4th floor, and then asked to be moved the next day because a rubbish truck came in the middle of the night to pick up... More

I stayed a few weeks in St. Petersburg at the Arbat Nord hotel across the street, who had warned me upon reservation that one night was absolutely not available for me. Hence that I had to sleep that one night at Russ Hotel. The reception area / lobby is awful, and the elevators are quite frightening and make you wonder... More

I stayed at the Russ Hotel recently for three nights with a friend. The hotel was clean and simple, but the rooms became very hot and were difficult to cool down. Breakfast was a good variety. Location is ok - a bit of a walk to places, but for the price was ok.

We visit St.Pt on regular basis. This time we had to stay at RUSS-hotel. The only good thing about this hotel is location - walking distance to practically all tourist places, etc. The rest - amenities, services, stuff attitude, restaurant - like in USSR. It appears this hotel is used by tourist groups from different parts of Russia, where leaving... More

If you want something nice stay at the grand hotel Europe!!! I lived here for 10 months and , after training the maid and some others got decent service. True, it is of Neo-Stalinist architecture and ammenities but most of the people we helpful and it was clean, of course this was in 1994!!!!!!

This is probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed in, especially given that it wasn't exactly cheap ($130 a night). The rooms were dirty and covered in dead insects. The bathroom was a joke, the bath didn't just have cracks in it, it had massive gapping holes in the enamel that were black with dirt. The hot water took 15... More

Ever used time machine? No? Then, you have a great chance to see truly sovietical service, unfriendly staff and [-] roomservice. Please, don't go to the breakfast - you are under risk of food poisoning! Please bring your own sheets and air-conditioner, following by antimoscito repellent (even in winter time). Lobby bar - gosh, dirty glasses, aged sandwiches and fake... More

We were a group of 30 here. Rooms all hot! Ours was about 90 degrees. Open windows doesn't help. Mosquitos are a big problem. Staff is no help. Schedule for Marinsky Theatre? no. Ticket for Hermitage? no. A local bar/restuarant to watch world cup? no. Laundry in hotel? no. Outside? no. How about a stamp for this postcard? no. Bartender... More
