I stayed in the hotel several times over the course of a month or so when working locally. It really is a top class hotel, with services to match. Location is excellent, a few minute's walk from Nevskiy Prospect and the history of the hotel, and of the famous guests, is impressive. Well worth a visit.

I stayed here for five nights in April and the standard of service was outstanding. It seems almost unfair to single out any particular group but I have to say that I have never encountered a concierge desk such as that in the Astoria. Unfortunately just in the past. Astoria reminds me a broken creaking wagon, drawn by the old blind horses that pull it in different directions. Maybe it will split in parts soon. What can save this hotel? Very sad impression...

Loved the location across from St. Isaac's and the trolley/metro stops are just a few minutes away. The property is spotless and gorgeous. A hotel with charm and history and in an excellent position to visit the best the city has to offer.
