The hotel has 5 stars on the exterior wall, but it doesn't deserve more than 3. Rooms equipped with carpets and furniture which look like they remember the '70s. Our room had no view to write home about; apparently the river side is much better. Nice rich varied breakfast (you can get bored with salmon caviar after a few days),... More

It is in no way the standard of a 5 star hotel, more like 3 or at a push 4 star. If a good situation, quiet comfortable bedroom with English speaking hotel staff is what you need then this fits the bill. It is in dire need of a revamp if it was to get close to the standard of... More

I was in Moscow from march 26-31, 2011. The hotel has a great location. You´re within walking distance to many important attractions, to name a few: monument of Peter the Great (5 mins), Christ the Savor Cathedral (10 mins), Tretyakov Gallery (10 mins), Kremlin/Red Square (25 mins), Arbat Street (30 mins). There´s also a metro station about 5 mins (Polyanka).... More

In serious need of renovation, looks international from outside - lots of flags, but inside it is still very old-fashioned, dare I say 'communist-era'!. Even a TWO STAR hotel in western europe has curtains which close! - after three requests - curtains are still open, so i expect to be woken when it becomes light. Typical of hotels in Moscow,... Perfect location.... but that's it if you don't have nostalgia for socialism times. Security gate to get at the territory of the hotel, if you have driver to pick you up - forget it, he can't come to hotel door through this gate, unless explicit security procedure will be done. Much easier, just go out - it's only about 100... More

"Hotel President" - a relic of Soviet times: the dusty crystal chandeliers, wood paneling, cabinets that do not close, nasty green plumbing made in Yugoslavia in1983 when taking the hotel into operation. Аntique safe, a refrigerator, "Saratov", which is not working, smelly carpets, hair in a Greek salad, ordered in room service, spots on the carpet in the hallways, the... More

Don't stay here if you can avoid it. This hotel is run by the Russian government and it shows: from dated, stuffy interiors to the worst and unfriendliest service i've ever experienced. Be very clear and repeat 3 times to which airport you like to go when booking a transfer with concierge: they took me to the wrong one and... More

- Good value for money Although the furniture is very outdated, I liked staying in this hotel very much. Location is good, just 25 walking from the Kremlin. Moscow hotels are very expensive so this is a good choice for the money you spend. Do not go here if you insist on EU/US modern style hotel chains like Marriott, Hyatt... More

To start with, it is reasonably central, a walk to Kremlin is about 20 mins. The views on the river side are very nice (a nice church just in front, then the river, Chist the Savior cathedral, two of Stalin's 'seven sisters' and distant glimpse of Moskva-city towers; and the infamous Peter I, but that's also fun for a short... Throwback to cold war, communist Russia and all of the dark, wood, old-fashioned furniture, ingrained tobacco smells, austere staff and soviet establishment you could possibly anticipate in this day and age. Frequented by government officials and their guests, the hotel was focused on security and efficiency at the complete expense of any sense of service. A few specifics: * Taxis... More
