The Metropol location cannot be beat... it is the right place to be at. Minutes from Redsquare and the rest of the "must-see" venues in central Moscow. Rooms are small and not really 5*, but in this specific case I see this as secondary item. The hotel itself has the "right" Russian atmosphere and breakfast is served in an AMAZING... More

We took a team of 71 people to Moscow for the weekend and stayed in The Metropol. Great central location made it possible to walk to most of the key sights. Just as well as the roads in and around Moscow are frequently gridlocked. Bearing in mind that no where in Moscow seems to have grasped the concept of customer... More

this is a great hotel, centrally located. rooms were spacious and clean, staff was friendly and helpful. our breakfast, which was very good with a large selection, was included in the price of the room which was reasonable. we were able to walk to everything and actually got to see part of the victory parade in red square from our... Metropol is the ideal hotel if your time in Moscow is limited and you want to stay very close to all the must sees. Red Square, Bolshoi Theatre and the Cremlin are all at a stone throw from the hotel, so location is really hard to beat. In addition, the hotel has a decadent atmosphere, something in between Russian belle... More

This is a big hotel located just a few steps from the Kremlin and Red Square. The common area and breakfast room give you that grand feeling, but the room was kind of average and bath room slightly out dated. The major problem was the air condition that din't work. Room was hot as a sauna and you couldn't open... More

Metropol is one of the historical Moscow hotels, a beautiful Art Deco building one minute from the Red Square. Renovated some 20 years ago, now it would need another one to keep up with its hotel class, but is still quite impressive and retains the right atmosphere. Rooms are generally spacious, but the best feature is breakfast, served in a... More

Firstly, beware that the price quoted may not include 18% VAT - this will be added on when you pay and could come as a shock. Beware that the breakfast costs nearly 1300 roubles (McDonalds is a few yards away and costs one tenth of this, to give you an idea). Beware that if you haven't asked for a non-smoking... More

This is a hotel run by former KGB. While outside the room, my stuff has been searched. These morons folded the duty free bag better than in a factory that's how i noticed that. Just can be dangerous, especially fora solo travaler.

I stayed at this beautiful old hotel twice, and what an experience! I travelled in August, and it just happened that it was a very hot week. Needless to say, they had great heaters, but the air conditioners didn't work as well. They worked with us until we found a room that felt cool enough to sleep in, and they... More

I remember hotel Metropol during the period where the Soviet Union was dissolving. It was still the most famous hotel in Russia. Although run-downed with years of neglect the Metropol was still majestic with artistic wood work and antique furnitures. The country was still in a state of insecurity so talking to a cashier or front desk staff was through... More
