I suspect this was once a smart business hotel. The location is good, the rooms were a good size, the breakfast was adequate, and the staff were helpful about taxis. But overall it was a bit depressing - the rooms were a bit shabby, my daughter's bed was so uncomfortable (springs sticking up in the mattress) that she had to... More

I was booked into this hotel with the tour group I was with. The hotel lobby was small with some old and dusty sofas for people to sit. Smoking is allowed in the lobby which made it rather unpleasant to sit in the lobby if there are people smoking. There are always between 2 to 3 men standing around in... More

Overall: Ok to stay if you have very basic expectations. - i.e. just need a place to sleep Location: The location is ok. It is walking distance to Red Square (i.e. 15 minutes). Hotel is on a side street off a main road. It is above a gentlemen's club but we did not experience any issues with that. There is... More

This hotel, although not perfect, is in an excellent location within walking distance of the major sites. There is no restaurant for evening meals however you can use the Romanov restaurant in the adjoining hotel (peter thr First). They do have a breakfast room which serves a more than adequate selection of hot and cold items to suit most tastes.... More

Substituted location for everything else. Very poor impression upon walking into the property. Reception was blunt and not helpful. When we were searching we hoped that there was "truth in advertising" but alas, no. No dining room, no extra services, no help from reception. The rooms were old, tatty and hot. The reception told us there was no way to... More

We are an American mom and 16 year old son travelling on a spring break trip to Russia. Good location that made it easy to navigate to all sights within the city. Red Square and the Kremlin were a 10 minute walk away (at the most). The Bolshoi Theater was an easy landmark for us to use to navigate to... More

Great location walking distance to main sights. Very dated rooms and mile long hallways but clean and warm. A good continental breakfast served in your room - there is no hotel dining room. There is absolutely nothing special about this hotel with very limited services and limited English spoken. Next time I'll spend some more and stay somewhere more upmarket.

The hotel is located in a beautiful building. The interiors are doing an amazing impression. The area also extremely interesting. Very close from here to the well-known landmarks such as St. Basil's Cathedral or the Bolshoi Theatre. Excellent service. All requests meet very soon. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, which serves very good food. It is worth noting that... More

The location o f the hotel is great in a very nice and classy area at a walking distance from Bolchoi and Red square. The room are decorated with horrible and old furniture. The materass was so old that half of the bed was not really able to be used and wifi was available with a inconsistent fee when wifi... More
