The hosts – a Peruvian family – couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful and keep the place perfectly clean. Unfortunately, that’s where the good things end. The hostel is a bit far from the center (so you need a taxi each time to go anywhere and back). We found the room too cold (no heating), and the shower was either... More

We stayed for two nights in this hostel with friendly owners that want to help you. The son (Jose) speaks English very well which is useful. They book you on a good tour on the lake. It is bit nosy and far from the centre but it is only a short taxi ride to get there.

My son and I stayed here in late August 2010. We were picked up at the bus station and brought to the hotel. The hotel is away from the downtown area. Transportation to and from downtown is easily arranged by taxi for about 2 US Dollars. Being in a more residential area renders the place quieter and more peaceful. The... More

The room we had was really clean and the staff was extremely helpful. This was definitely one of the nicer places we stayed during the trip. Great value! The owner’s son even came to pick us up at the bus station. There was a cute common area with lots of DVDs and free access to internet. We also had access... More

Phajsi Aruma was really the best in the our 30 days in Peru! Outside the building seemed like an unattractive and we feared that made the wrong choice. But inside was a wonderful hotel. Rooms not big, but perfectly clean with the view on Lake Titicaca. In room -hot water, towels, very comfortable beds, thick and warm blankets, new bed... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here as our "home base" for our trip & home stay on Amantani island. We loved it. The family was so so very nice (and yes, it helped the boyfriend spoke Spanish, but the son speaks English very well) and helpful that I will not soon forget. Is it the fanciest place? No, but it... Found this to be a very nice place to stay. As other reviewers have mentioned, breakfast was excellent and room was more than adequate. The owner is a lovely woman who gave us plenty of advice on things to do. She organised our Lake Titicaca trip and got up to bring us to the docks at 6.45am to make sure... More

We really enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were nice (especially considering the price), the breakfast was excellent (bacon, eggs, juice, bread and more) but it is the family who run this place that makes it special. They picked us up on arrival and drove us into town on more than one occasion, gave us good travel advice, did our... More

Felt like a homestay with wonderful hositality. The location is about 4 soles taxi ride from town centre but they pick you up, send you to the jetty to join the lake tours, so only when you take a cab when return for the day. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of tasty local bread, fresh orange juice, eggs and bacon prepared... More

Simply the best service you can get from a bed & breakfast or similar! Luciana is so wonderful, she worries if you have enough blankets for the night, what you would prefer for breakfast and so on! Really good job! Her family helps her and they even make an effort to speak English even though Spanish is better! Don't forget... More
