Imagine arriving by canoe at a small island and being welcomed by smiling Kuna ladies wearing traditonal costumes with molas and beads. Once you're installed in one of the six comfortable rustic cabins, had a stroll around the small island, or been on an interesting excursion, you will eat a wonderful lunch. If you like fish and seafood, you won't... More

The red huts over the blue sea are out of a magazine's feature cover story. The huts, rustic but elegant, had everything that you need (except hot water) for a cell phone free vacation where you can only rest on the hammock while listening to the waves, read, talk and watch the starts at night. Although not inexpensive, the friendly... More

Adwadup lodge was amazing. We were the only people on this little island staying in one of 7 cabins overlooking the water. Could walk around the island in 10 minutes. Lovely friendly staff who provided meals (good fish) and drinks and whatever we asked for, and guide who took us to neighbouring islands to see villages, see and learn about... More

The last two nights of our 14 days visit to Panama we stayed in cabana 1 of the Akwadup Lodge, an absolutely unforgettable experience. After a warm welcome we got acquainted with a type of life that we only knew from hear say. During our stay in Panama we have visited many places of interest but the Akwadup Lodge was... More

We spent three nights here as part of our vacation in Panama and this place is amazing. The staff are wonderful. Many thanks to Juan who was our translator and guide and our friend while in the islands with the Kuna people. We had an entire day with the island to ourselves. The food was plentiful and delicious. Expect conditions... More

This place is great! We flew in from Panama City and were greeted by Daniel and his aide. We hopped into our little boat and enjoyed the short ride to the tiny island that holds seven green huts perched over the ocean. The huts are primitive, which adds to the charm of the place. They are very clean and have... More

My travel companions and I spent 3 nights at the Akwadup Lodge at the end of a 16 day vacation in Costa Rica and Panama, and this was the highlight of the entire trip. The experience was unforgettably wonderful. With proper preparation and mindset Kuna --- (and especially Akwadup Lodge) can be an extremely rewarding experience.

Each day at Akwadup Lodge was an amazing experience. The staff was absolutely the best. It is not unusual for them to go out of their way to make special arrangements to meet everyone's needs. Initially we made reservations at Dad Ibe Lodge, but when we arrived at Dad Ibe, there was no room available for us. The boat driver... More

I expected Akwadup to be rustic - after all, it *is* San Blas where everything is rustic. I guess I was hoping things would be a bit more "upscale" rustic - since we'd been told that this was the best in San Blas. First, the positives: The location is beautiful. A tiny speck of an island less than a mile... More

I just returned from vacation in Panama, which included a 2-night stay at Akwadup. They met me at the airstrip and took me by boat to the island. The resort is owned by the chief of the Achutupu community (same with other Uaguinega hotels). There was an entire staff there just for me and the one other guest who was... More
