I stayed there for 2 nights. Nice, clean room, with a small balcony opening into a quiet garden. Other rooms open into the pool area, which is nice, but noisy. Breakfast ok. The hotel is far from Nizwa Fort or shopping area.

An enterprising hotelier would do well to open a decently-priced, well-run hotel in Nizwa as there really isn't a perfect option. We were glad we stayed here as it's probably the best bet. It's actually in Birkat Al-Mawz (15 minute drive from Nizwa) which is a great location for the road to Jebel Akhdar.
The staff were friendly and helpful....

I've been at the Golden Tulip, Nizwa twice: once for a lunch meeting and a second time for a one-week stay. The hotel is lacks not only atmosphere, but light. The reception area is open and very dark. It could benefit from some decorations and artistic lighting to seem welcome. The "Russian Bar" is a bit awkwardly situated in the...

Stayed there for one night only. Reception was friendly, room was big enough. Had a room with a terrace and direct access to the pool – make sure you get one of these as the other rooms aren’t situated as nice.
Bathroom was small but tidy, and everything was working well. Mattress was rather hard (as in most hotels in...

I stayed here for four nights with a group of colleagues on a business trip. This is a very large place which has elements of a resort hotel -- big pool, landscaping, outdoor BBQ -- but also huge, decorative public spaces with lots of marble and heavy furniture, very much in local taste. It is designed along the model of...

in february 2012 we stayed two nights in this really nice hotel. however the cleanliness was poor, the maintenance was bad and the staff did not seem to be motivated.
Its way out of Town and not near to anything unless you have a car, its a bit difficult to find at night the road signs are in dark green ! Had your average bog standard hotel room overlooking the swimming pool which was nice, but the tap was not working and the shower was stuck and the towel rail...

We 4 adults and 1 Child stayed in this hotel for two nights. The hotel is not in city, a bit far from Nizwa. But the place is good for a leisure stay. It is also on the road (old) to tourist attractions like Bahla, Jbiren, Jebel Shams , Jebel Akhdar and Hoota cave.
The hotel staff is very friendly...

Although stating that the hotel is IN Nizwa it is quite a bit of a drive from the city centre. If we did not have our own car it would be difficult to go in and out of Nizwa city. Hotel has a very nice set-up but you can see it is already some years old. Everything is clean and...

The location is not very convenient if you prefer staying in the city, but the hotel has a great background. The hotel seems a bit aged, with a bit dated decor but was well kept and clean. The staff was very friendly and room was okay.
I booked thru Booking.com and I got the impression that the hotel was almost...
