Excellent hotel with resort character, certainly best location to stay at Pemba. Spacious rooms with well working air condition. Nice restaurant with a beautiful outside area with sea view. Good breakfast buffet. Nice bar area with snacks available. WiFi working in the room and the bar area. An overall pleasant experience.

For a remote location I was surprised how good the service and food was as before I went my expectations was not very high, so I was very surprised. I had seen bad reviews so maybe I was lucky. But what did surprise me that it is in front of a ocean that is teaming with fish and shellfish I... More

The pros : seems to be the only decent hotel in Pemba The cons : because it is the only decent hotel no efforts are made by staff to improve service : power outage, water cut , endless waiting for check in or check out, extremely slow service in the restaurant, very average buffet breakfast, all this for a very... So sad this hotel doesn't exploit the paradise where it's located. I've been there twice because of my husband's job and really we don't like it. The problem is that he have to go back because its the only "hotel" in town. The service is terrible, and even being in front of the ocean, sometimes they DO NOT have fish!!... More

As a contractor that often stays in hotels around Africa, I found Pemba Beach to be one of the better ones. I was in Pemba last year and stayed at a very basic place in the middle of town. By contrast, the Pemba Beach hotel gives a good impression on entry. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food... More

Was in town in March 2013 I read the reviews and decided to pass, but others went there. They were not happy, out of water for most of one day and problems like others have posted. On the positive side the entry way and lobby are nice and they clean the beach out front and its a little away from... More

This was the only place my company could find that was available when I needed to go to Pemba, I wasn't disappointed. OK, the rooms are tired and the bathrooms are old, but it was clean. I have read on other reviews and I heard people in the hotel talking about the issue with mosquitoes. I didn't have any in... More

Myself and my husband stayed here last week. It is expensive, however I would say in my opinion it is the best place to stay in Pemba! The room was very nice, we had a beautiful view of the sea. All of the staff were friendly and willing to help. The Restaurant was good, food good and very clean .Fatima... More

After reading all comments I decided to follow the advice of a colleague and stayed in another place in Pemba and avoid this hotel. After 6 nights in a place that charged 120 dollars/night for a room with noise, no bar, no wifi (although you pay) I decided to try the Pemba Beach Hotel. No regrets. Just made my trip... More

Service is very hit or miss. Sometimes you will get great service and other times they could not care less. However, this is a trend across Africa. My room had no issues but other people I was traveling with had trouble with air conditioning and water quality. They should have mosquito spray in the room to spray at night. Very... More
