Stayed for 2 nights recently as part of a trip around Sarawak and Sabah. The hotel rooms were clean and pleasant. There are lots of different types of room depends on cost, so have a look. The facilities were good, and the sea food restaurant was nice - although we did eat in the main restaurant one night and the... More

A really lovely hotel with a great location and excellent staff. We had a fantastic time and were really well looked after by the fantastic staff. The room we stayed in was a little dated but was clean and comfortable and was an excellent price. The only thing which was a downside was some of the miserable rude other guests... More

We recently spent a week at Damai Beach Resort in April. Really, we had 'run of the joint' during the week. There was a handful of guests at any one time, whether in the cafe, the pools, table tennis, chess etc. The staff are wonderful. Friendly, kind and genuinely interested. Our room- 2 chalets overlooking the beach with connecting door,... More

managing everyone's expectations, yes its dated. Yes, the weekends are full of day trippers. But, the staff try their best : ) We had flowers in the villa. The resident band singing our requests. Even the other guests are nice. They help take pictures for us at the beautiful beach. Yes, sunset at the beach was just awesome.

Treated my wife to a two night stay in one of the hilltop Baruk suites, and her reaction on entering said it all. The suite truly is the most incredible room we have ever stayed in over extensive travels, with spectacular views over the sea and Mt Santubong. The circular layout and deep ceiling lends a lovely ambiance, with thoughtful... More

Damai Beach Resort is no spring chicken. It's been here since the 80s and while in regular people years being 40 isn't old at all, it can be in beach resort years! Happily enough, the Resort does not show too much of its age. Responsible management has resulted in good maintenance and regular upgrades of its physical appearance. There are... More

A week away with my wife. We were allocated a cliff top room with excellent views of the entire area from our balcony. The resort is clean, well maintained, the staff very friendly and helpful, restaurants and bars presented a good variety of local and western food and drinks. A problem with our aircon was fixed promptly, as were a... More
