Having originally booked into the awful Tropicana Lodge, we were delighted to find this clean and spacious hostel, so obviously the best in KK. Great rooms with fan were good price. Wifi and internet, great local information, free noodles for breakfast, tea & coffee. Staff were fantastic and common room was great place to escape the heat and the rain.... More

I traveled to Kota Kinabalu frequently. Everytime I stayed at this place; clean, comfortable, friendly stuff, right in the heart of Kota Kinabalu, big lounge area for hang around, chatting, watching videos, TV and makes you feel like home. More

This is among the first times that we disagree with other people on Tripadvisor. The private rooms in Akinabalu are made of concrete with windows facing the hallway. It really feels like a prison cell. The internet is slow and almost unusable in the rooms. People in the common area didn't talk to eachother. There was construction work in the... More

I spent 4 nights here in Mid-May and my stay was enjoyable. Very clean bathrooms, a very nice, spacious lounge room w/ kitchen, tv, dvd selection, 2 internet computers, free wifi, and for watching activity on the lively Gaya street down below through the open air windows on bar stools. Good way to kill time during down time. Staff was... More

The hostel is really nice and we can highly recommend it. The rooms and the bathrooms are very clean. They clean the bathrooms several times a day. The recreation room is nice. It´s bright and big. There are two pc, a big table, some bar chairs, a small couch with table and 3 big couches in front of the tv.... More

I liked this place: it's not the cheaperst as far as backpacker places go, but it's clean, friendly, offers free internet and coffee, and has a great, large shared area in which you can chill out when it rains, meet other travellers (if you want to) and generally while away time very pleasantly. Staff are friendly, and the location is... More

We stayed at Akinabalu after trawling around all the backpackers in KK and were grateful when we finally stumbled upon it. We instantly liked the feel of the place and it was a reasonable price in comparison to other backpackers. The rooms are spacious and come in doubles, triples or dorms. We stayed in a double room with a fan... More
