We booked with Borneo adventure who partner in Sandakan is S.I.Tours. We had a 3 day,2 nights Sandakan wildlife adventure. Our first night was at Selingan Turtle Island. This was a great place to see the turtles laying their eggs, the transferring of the eggs to the hatchery and the opportunity to watch the release of young turtles hatchling to... More

We stayed here two nights, just after staying at Abai Jungle Lodge and before moving on to Danum Valley. There was less wildlife here than at Abai, and lots more boats of tourists to share it with. The lodge itself is nice and comfortable. No a/c so the rooms are a bit damp, but it was cool enough to sleep... More

This is a great hotel in the Sukau area of the Kinabatangan. During the river cruise we saw plenty of animals such as proboscis monkeys, snakes, birds, macaques and on our last day we even saw a tame sambar deer wandering in the hotel grounds. After Abai Jungle Lodge, I were disappointed that this place did not have a jungle... More

We stayed for 2 nights at the Logde. Everything has just been refurbished so the cabins are very nice, clean and new. No aircondition but warm water for the bath. Staying with small kids should be carefully considered. There are no activities for kids (0 to 11 year) at the logde. They will find the rivercruise not intresting as there... More

Getting to the lodge takes several hours from Sandakan up the Kinabatangan river but the trip is worth it for the perfect setting... Not only this but we also saw a lot of Proboscis Monkeys and Macaques on the way along with many birds and a Crocodile. All the staff here are very friendly and it seemed like everyone at... More

We stayed for two nights in August. The accommodation is fairly basic but clean. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and everyone gets into the spirit of things during dinner by wearing a sarong. The lodge is well placed to do early morning and evening cruises up and down the Kinatabangan River to see proboscis monkeys and macaques and... More

Me and my boyfriend spent a couple of nights here as part of a tour and we really loved it. The setting was perfect and the whole experience here turned out to be the highlight of our trip! As soon as you arrive from the boat you are greeted by friendly staff with a welcome drink. The resort itself feels... More

We stayed here for two nights as part of Thomas Cook Tour's Venture into Borneo Holiday and after if we'd known what this place was like I'd have booked with a different company and avoided it completely. I must first say that the wildlife viewing on the river from the lodge and the Gomantong Caves were amazing, the guide from... More

I would not stay here again - there are so many other lodges in the area that frequently we had 5 boats sitting in front of the same tree looking at the same monkey. It really didn't feel remote - more like a tourist spot on the river. If you want something a bit more remote, I would stay at... More

My husband and I visited Borneo as part of our honeymoon in May 2011. Our trip on the Kinabatangen was organised by SI tours and our excellent guide was Leo. Our stay comprised of three nights at the Kinabatangen river lodge and one night at Abai. During our stay we went on many river trips and saw some amazing wildlife... More
