Fantastic hotel in excellent location for sightseeing. Wonderful ambience, great breakfast, good selection of drinks including cocktails at reasonable prices. Would definitely stay again if we return to Penang

The Yeng Keng Hotel is a surprisingly good, refreshing & charming hotel. The value is excellent, you get great service, great rooms, great food & great location! You are bang in the middle of Georgetown, a heritage city. You can easily walk to the heritage sites, or to the shops or the restaurants. If you don't want to walk you... More

This is a great value boutique style hotel with class. I had the Chulia Suite (1) which over looks the Hotel courtyard to the main street. Your lounge buffers you from any noise and in the bedroom with your A/C on you cannot hear a thing. The rooms are full of character with very individual decor. Very comfy double bed... More

Good location ,clean and friendly staff, I also think that all front desk staff need more training in genaral knowledge of their surounding, when asked about the Hop-on-hop-off bus, the old guy behind the reception told me that they only run on the week days (Wrong! they run 7days a week), when asked where is the nearest HOHO pick up... We stayed in Yeng Keng Hotel from 5-7 May. We booked 2 Courtyard Twin rooms, located on the ground floor. Service is excellent. We arrived fairly early at 10am and the reception staff Ms. Priya was very helpful. Seeing that we were exhausted, she took the initiative to get 1 room ready for us to rest in, though our check... Stayed for 2 nights from 2-4 March in the Courtyard Double Room as I didnt want any rooms located downstairs or near to reception as my partner is a light sleeper even with ear plugs! Communication with reservation was a little tricky and although I am a Malaysian, I refused to communicate in Bahasa or Cantonese as I wanted my... More

Stayed for three nights last week in room 212. It is a very nice hotel in a great location. It was easy to walk to many attractions and restaurants nearby. The hotel staff were very helpful. Slept very well each night. The only thing I would improve on would be the cafe. First, it would be nice to have a... More

I enjoy traveling alone and visiting ethnically diverse cities around the world. Georgetown, Malaysia is a fascinating place with the added advantage of being inexpensive. I stayed 5 nights at the Yeng Keng Hotel and loved it. Only 20 rooms, I followed the suggestions found on this site and booked a room upstairs toward the back of the hotel, #210.... More

Stayed at the Yeng Keng and came away with a satisfied feeling. Small hotel in the middle of Chulia Street, with a great potential as it is friendly, clean and well maintained. My room was small but adequate and is fully equipped. The upside for me is the client parking at the rear of the hotel which is convenient. Just... More
