Property Report: Satao Elerai Location: 5Km off the Amboseli National Park Kimana gate dirt road. Road condition: It is not well maintained, very rough. It makes the 5km look like 10km; it would be virtually impassable during the rainy season using minivans. The road also is very narrow. Airstrips: Satao Elerai is served by 3 airstrips, namely: Amboseli, Malindi and... More

What a fab place to stay! On a private concession not far from Amboseli National Park gate (12km). Offers both tented and room accommodation - both of which are spacious and lovely! We stayed on a tent which was huge and even had a nice 'loo with a view' out facing Mount Kili. There is a divine "'tame' eland called... More

We had a great stay. Unfortunatelly we stayed only for one night and this was a big mistake. We should have stayed at least two to three nights. I had a short jump into the pool. It was a bit freezing, but very refreshing, before we went to a walking safari to the sundowner. I just can recommend the lodge... More

Satao Elerai is a magic place. Being welcomed by the semi-tame elan, having those views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and experiencing such a variety in activities is hard to top! We took part in impressive game drives in Amboseli national park as well as in the private reserve, visited the local village and enjoyed a sundowner with one of the best... More

This is a very nice place to stay for 2 nights. The food service was very good and I appreciated the prepared menu selections as opposed to the usual buffet service. Tents were very nice and bedding not too hard. We were lucky to have clear nights and the star gazing was FANTASTIC! The view of a balding Mt. Kili... More

What an experience was this. Waking up in the morning, opening your tent and looking out at mount Kilimanjaro. We arrived here for a 2 night stay, after our first 2 days in the Masai Mara reserve. We where spoiled in the Masaï Mara tand thought Satao could never improve this experience. For the game drive this was wright, Amboseli... More

The private reserve between Amboseli and Kilimanjaro is blessed with an abundance of birdlife and some great sightings of the highest peak in Africa. Wonderful staff and wholesome food make this a favorite place to stay.

We stayed at Satao Elerai Camp for two nights over Easter weekend and really enjoyed our time there. The Camp itself is situated in a fantastic spot for viewing Mt. Kilimanjaro – one of the highlights of the stay. We (our family of two adults and two children) found our tent to be very roomy and comfortable. The bathroom was... More

I stayed with a group of friends in October 2012. On arrival we were met by some fantastic staff and were immediately made to feel very welcome. I guess my trouble started as i went in with higher expectations than i should of...i had received some very well done glossy marketing material that just didn't match up at all with... More

Every Excellent-rated review of this camp is 100% accurate and valid. Make every effort to stay at Satao Elerai when you visit Amboseli. You will not be disappointed. Seeing Kilimanjaro in the morning while sitting on the verandah of your tent cabin and being served fresh coffee is a lifetime experience. Everyone is right--the last cabin has the best view... More
