Stayed here for 1 night. Great service, nice hotel, good location. The rate was very good and included breakfast. The rooms are nice and clean, but too small. While small rooms in Tokyo are ok, I would expect a larger room in an area like Matsuyama. Dogo onsen itself is a bit of a disappointment. I preferred visiting the castle.
Having wanted to stay in downtown Matsuyama rather than the ryokan-packed Dogo onsen area, and having been told that all other downtown hotels were booked, we decided to suck it up and pay 23 000 yen per night to stay right off of Okaido shopping street. beautiful common areas. rooms small by american standards. ours smelt smokey. beautiful view from 14th floor breakfast buffet overlooking the castle. get a breakfast coupon if possible. buffet cost 1850Yen. opposite a pretty shopping street and beside the very fancy mitsukoshi department store. supposedly the nicest hotel in matsuyama.
