Great location and helpful staff. Easy walking distance from train station and to the Matsumo Castle. Plenty of food and shopping in the area. Next door to a shrine. On the river. Had lovely view of city and castle from my 7th floor room for my stay. Liked the slippers and robe, one free coffee/tea package in room.

Matsumoto is a great place to stay. This hotel was easy to find and not too far from the station. It was a bit dated and the corridors smelt of cigarette smoke (make sure you book a non smoking room if you don't smoke), but the room was really nice. It was very traditional with tatami mats and sliding screens...

We managed to get this hotel for (in Japan anyway) a fairly reasonable rate of about 12000 yen for four heads.
Hotel is a short 5-min walk from the station.
We took the Japanese-style room as this was reasonably spacious and allowed us to sleep with 4 tatami matresses in the same room ( we were travelling with our 7...
