Excellent price/quality. Very clean. Helpful staff. Well located. I would definitely come back to this hotel.

This is the 2nd Richmond Hotel we have stayed in and would recommend the chain for their prices and the good size of rooms (for Japan). The bed was a little hard for my wife and the pillows a bit small. Otherwise, the room was quite large, clean and well appointed. There is no mini bar to worry about and...

Clean, fresh decor. Good sized rooms. Friendly staff. Some english spoken.
I'd recommend this hotel to stay, and will look at other Richmond Hotels around Japan if I need.
I came by car, and noticed the parking area before I had stopped to check-in. On booking I had indicated that I would arrive by car and need a carpark. While...

An excellent hotel. This one, as with all of the Richmond Hotels we have stayed in so far, is of a high standard. Hotel has coin laundrey. There is a coffee bar / cafe on the first floor. A convenience store is located just around the corner. Plenty of restaurants are between the hotel and station which is a 5...

As I've said in other reviews, the Richmond Hotel concept is fantastic. Basic but very clean rooms with coin laundries and coin vending machines on several of the floors. The Richmond Hotel in Matsumoto is no different, we stayed for six nights here and would definetely return if we're ever in Matsumoto again.
Location notes: the hotel is about a...

The room was nice and large for a Japanese hotel. The ensuite was a good size as well. It was the only time that we were able to get an english TV channel at night in Japan.
Stayed here for 2 nights, with family and had booked 2 rooms. The hotel is centrally located and Matsumoto Castle is just a 10 min walk from the hotel. The staff are cordial and very helpful. Station is only a 5 min walk and we had gone to Kamikochi. The timing was perfect as we had gone in the peak...

If you had to invent a stereotypical provincial business hotel, this would be it. It's reasonable to the point of cheap, comfortable, bland, clean, and pleasant.
It's quite big and hence easy to find, and within walking distance of the main train station. There's limited car parking for a small fee, in the lot opposite the hotel. Check-in is on...
