We were treated like royalty, greeted in our room every day with a short tea ceremony by a traditionally-garbed woman, had a full Japanese breakfast served to us every morning. Very close to the train station on the main street, yet quiet. Relaxing public bath, too. I wish I were back there now!

We were looking to spend a couple of nights in a traditional Japanese Ryokan with all the trimmings and the Chaya did not disappoint. A very unique experience. A chance to experience traditional food and lodgings. Very convenient --just 3 minute walk from the train station. Very personal service---yukata, futon, meals in my room. I enjoyed breakfast more than the dinners. The main thing to know before you go--- is relax. Enjoy your surroundings and the food!!
