Beautiful rooms. Great views. Excellent staff. Wonderful food! Nice onsen! This was the highlight of our trip and despite the price is an excellent value becuase it was such a memorable experience.

We stayed at the Katchoan for two nights on 13th & 14th October. My wife has an allergy to feathers so hotel (and particularly ryokan ) visits present fairly significant hurdles to hoteliers – in this area the Kachoan couldn’t have been more obliging. We ended up being booked here because our original choice, Nagase, had recently closed. This place was represented as being the next best ryokan in the city. We knew it was a modern ryokan and we had no problem with that, but what we didn't know is that it is really just a Japanese style hotel. Maybe technically it qualfies...
