Sussi & Chuma was our first stop in Africa before heading to South Africa. We dived right into our itinerary even though we had been traveling for two days. We started with a River Cruise and a visit to Nakatindi. The River Cruise offered us a wonderful lesson on Zambia, the river and the wildlife around the beautiful wildlife sanctuary... More

We stayed at Sussi and Chuma for three nights in April 2012 and we loved it. The riverside setting is literally waterfront and utterly magnificent. It was the first of four Sanctuary resorts that we stayed at in Zambia and Botswana and we found them all to be excellent. The greeting was warm and friendly and Arnold went out of... More

Sussi and Chuma was a magnificent setting right on the mighty Zambezi river. The game viewing was not as abundant as what we had in Botswana, but Sussi and Chuma definitely offered some unique experiences- our first rhino siting, Vic Falls, and a village tour which was an eye opener for our two teen age boys. S&C guides were friendly... More

An experience of a life time. The setting is beautiful. Room 12 is definitely " a room with a view". The hippos were sleeping next to our room at night. The service was outstanding and the food perfect, even a elephant came for supper. The staff was very well trained, the service excellent and we were greeted by name. The activities... More

We were absolutely blown away by this river lodge! The setting is beautiful, the service outstanding and the food perfect. The emphasis is on personalised service, and all the staff make an effort to greet you by name from day 1. They went out of their way to ensure that we got to do what WE wanted to do. My... More

It was the best 24 hours in the Livingstone: great room, wonderful personalized service.. complimentary safari and a river trip were unforgettable. Breakfast was delicious, sw. pool could be bigger, but as there was nobody else around us - it didn't matter much. I guess we were lucky to have a group of hippos on the other side of the... More

Super introduction to Africa. Falls were amazing and the game we saw was an added bonus. Our guide (Junior) was great and had a wicked sense of humour. Lunch on an island on the Zambezi was a fabulous touch! We liked the fact that the guides joined us for pre-dinner drinks which was a good opportunity to meet other guests.... More

We were on a 4 camp 25th wedding anniversary mega holiday. The camps we visited were Okuti and Kanana (both Ker & Downey) and Santuary Stanleys, and Sanctuary Sussi and Chuma (Sanctuary Retreats). All camps provided complimentary shower gel, shampoo and conditioner. A small point maybe, but I had checked and been told that some didn’t. This facility has a... More

My husband and I stayed at Sussi & Chuma for three nights in early September 2011 and had a wonderful experience. We found the staff to be very warm and welcoming, attentive and knowledgable. The lodge is located right on the Zambezi River and the views are breathtaking. Each guest house is considered a tree house because it is raised... More
