Great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms. Walking distance from ferry and in heart of old town. The owners are friendly and helpful. We traveled with our 2 year old and the owners had several things on hand for children. A cot, high chair and a cabinet full of toys, puzzles, and books. I have to agree with previous posts... More

This was actually our second time at El Capullo. Last year we stayed in one of the large, sunny rooms on the second floor, overlooking the backyard. This year we stayed in a room just off the main floor, near the dining area. Both were excellent and while the upper room was far superior, we were surprised that the smaller... More

The breakfast offerings were good and the bed was super comfortable. Only trouble was that our room was next to the front door and on the street. Noise from the street was not an isuue - guests and staff coming and going through the front entry space (like an echo chamber).

This hotel is the perfect place to relax in one of the most laid-back towns in this part of the world. A very nice pool in a quiet garden, with small but well-appointed rooms. The hotel offers bicycle hire, which for once sounds like a nice idea. Colonia has a remarkably low level of traffic, the majority of which moves... More

Colonia is a small city that requires a little planning before you go so you can take advantage of its beauty. It's a place for romantic couples, for a good relaxing time, and for travellers that search a quality of food and sleep. There are many - compared to the city size - hotels, restaurants and pubs to have a... More

We stayed here on our honeymoon over Christmas and it is the most beautiful places we have ever stayed in. The rooms were extremely clean and its in a great location on a quiet street. The breakfast was very nice and plenty of it to set you up for your day. All of the staff were very helpful and made... More

I found this hotel a few blocks from the ferry. Its garden is very inviting and it’s located across the old city historical park. My room was located on the main floor and was quite noisy, the location itself is tucked away that it could be alright but I didn't seen to get a good sleep, and somehow my light... More

Very clean and quiet hotel. There was free breakfast of cheese, homemade bread, meat, butter, jam, dulce de leche, etc We stayed in one of the rooms by the pool and it was very quiet. The hotel is half a block from the main plaza and the city is very walkable. It's about a 7 minute walk from the Buque... More

Found this to be an excellent hotel, centrally located. Lovely rooms with own en suite bathrooms. Large garden with excellent outdoor pool. Spotlessly clean. Very good buffet breakfast. The owners were charming and helpful; we would certainly go again.

I read through many reviews of posadas in Colonia before choosing El Capullo, and I'm glad I did. It's a lovely house with modern decor and artful touches throughout the public areas, from the funky art in the breakfast room to the daybed in the garden by the pool. It's right in the centre of the old town on one... More
