This campground this an island paradise. It's a four hour drive by van from Krabi and another hour by long tail boat. The view when you approach the island is breathtaking and if you're lucky dolphins will greet you. I saw dolphins offshore two times, on both sides of the island. They were probably the same ones. The campground is... More

Thanks to Andaman we spent 4 nights at this tiny beach paradise. We would not have chosen it on our own. It is quite involved to get here so four nights is about right. We are not climbers but filled our time with snorkeling, kayaking, beach-combing and just relaxing. It is all about the location and privacy, not service or... More

this is my favorite quiet island in Thailand. one beautiful beach, great sea, good snorkeling, kayaking, and rock climbing off the beach. laoliang is everything i was looking for in a island-beach getaway. most of southern thailand has SOOO MANY tourists during the high season. it was great to go to an island with less then 40 guests. And the... More

People complain too much on this website, can’t they understand that this island is totally isolated and that everything has to be brought in every day by boat. Of course the food is pretty basic, really, what do people expect, gourmet cuisine for THB 1,500 a night including all food and accommodation. Get real! The food is really good value... More

My wife and I spent three nights on Lao Liang, and it's a rather unique experience. If you decide to stay here, make sure you know what you're getting into. On the positive side: 1. The island itself is gorgeous. In modern Thailand, this is as close as you're going to get to the fictional island in "The Beach." 2.... More

It is a very small island. Took us half an hour to went, in a kayak, around all the island. The tends are good. The food is not, and there is no options. The water is not bottled. Bathroons are at most ok. It a nutshell, the landscape is fantastic, but doesn't worth the trouble.

You are staying in tents, but it is still quite a treat. The place is really popular with the climbers, but if you love snorkeling, or relaxing on a very quiet beach, you will also like this. The tents were comfortable, and the electricity for the fan helped make it good for sleeping, because it was pretty hot there. The... More

In a few years they will have run down that beautifull piece of paradise. Paradise like nature: 1) good climbing - enough for 5 full days. Grads: 5 up to 7b+, but mostly around 6c. 2) really nice reef directly in front of the beach with rays, nemos, pufferfish, many different fish shoals, and really nice corrals. 3) at that... More

All-inclusive resort with accomodation in large, comfortable tents, tasty food and easy access to great climbing and snorkeling. The island is very small and feels a bit crowded when there are many visitors (and that is from around 20...).

Kho Lao Liang wrapped up a 6-week climbing holiday in Southern Thailand. I became interested in the place after reading comments in a climbing guide that sated, "if you want to experience Tonsai as it was 15-years ago go to Lao Liang". The guide is correct. Lao Liang is a pretty cool spot without question worth experiencing. For climbers it... More
