I'm a regular guest at VN Guesthouse, I live in Bangkok and I spend most of my weekends in Kanchanaburi. (I'm not one of those noisy teachers btw, I love the quietness) A year ago I had a bad motorbike accident, and the staff took care of me like they were my family - I ended up staying there for... We spent 5 nights here and they set up all our activities - waterfall, Hellfire museum, elephant camp, whatever and wherever we wanted to go they took care of it and it worked out beautifully. Great food on a lovely balcony with a wonderful view. One day I just set up my laptop there and worked for the whole day.... More

We stayed here for about 5 nights and the host was very unfriendly towards us. My partner was very ill throughout the stay thus us having to stay much longer than we wanted. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned and they were suprised that we asked. We ate here on the first night and the food... More

We stayed here for two nights in March 2011 during earthquake in Barma. We didn't notice anything special like earth moving or something :). We had double A/C room in the concete building. Room was simple, but clean. I would prefer more daylights, bedroom was dark, but you didn't come to Kanchanaburi to stay in the guesthouse. Water and toilet... More

There are three aspects to VN Guesthouse, the rooms, the food, and the staff. We stayed at VN Guesthouse in mid-january. We originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying 5 because we did an overnight tour in between. We had tried to book at floating cabin room but these fill up fast in the high season so we... I've stayed here three times now, and I love almost everything about this guesthouse: location on a quiet soi right on the river, basic but clean "raft" rooms with balconies facing the river, and a peaceful and relaxing restaurant area where you can watch the sunset and rest. My only complaint is that it seems every college-age "English teacher" in... More

VN Guesthouse is situated in a quiet corner of Kanchanaburi (yet walkable from the town centre). It is excellent value for money with a double bed room going for as low as 450 Baht. Its located on the bank of the river and their are two sections of the guesthouse i.e. one on the bank and the other is a... More

My husband and I stayed here in October 2011. It's excellent value for money and has a lot of positives - the restaurant has an amazing view across the river Kwai and is an excellent chill-out location (with good food too!), the staff are super friendly and helpful, and the room we had was clean and comfortable. In fact, there... More
