My friend and I stayed in this hotel as part of a tour of the area. It was such a delightful hotel. Swimming pool was wonderful, spa treatments reasonably priced and marvellous, food was good too... My only regret is not having longer at this hotel.

Royal Riverkwai Resort & Spa Kanchanaburi Thailand The rooms were o.k. but bathrooms very old and not good. The taps were dripping, not always hot water, not very clean. The gardens are lovely, the swimming pool is good. Only one of the staff spoke English… The restaurant is sometimes good, other times not so good. We returned an uneaten plate... More

Right on the River Kwai with a bar on a pier. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was lovely. The singer in the bar was awful so we didn't stay - she was murdering a Bob Dylan classic!! Swimming pool was lovely - nice and big for proper swimming and also plenty of loungers. The room was lovely... More

We stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Kanchanaburi and the surrounding area. At first I was a little worried about the location as it is about 9km away from Kanchanaburi town. In fact, the location couldnt have been better. Located on the river but not too close to the noise and hustle and bustle of being close to the... More

We used this hotel as kind of a stay-over between our exhausting tour through Thailand. The hotel itself, located at the banks of the River Kwai is well composed with a great swimming pool in the middle, a large restaurant and two-stored-buildings containing the rooms. The rooms are really nothing special, just average I'd say compared to the other hotels... More

I guess the two positive features of this hotel are its location (right on the River Kwai) and the great pool area. Our group arrived around 7:30 PM so we were the only ones in the outdoor dining room. We were fed a preset meal and entertained by a Thai country singer! I couldn't locate the soap/shampoo in the bathroom... More

Appears to be nice, located on a river bank. Rooms are quite small. Bathroom drains smell but this is not unusual in this country once you are out of the cities. Restaurant fairly basic. Nice swimming pool. Facilities certainly do not justify the title "Resort". It is just an ordinary hotel in a small town. Well located for the bridge... More

We stayed here as part of our tour for one night on 14th Jan 2013. We found the resort to be stunning in its location right on the river. The pool was quite big and deep enough to dive into, the pool area was lovely. We enjoyed an evening meal in their restaurant which was lovely and very good value,... More

Stayed there in Dec 2012 with my family. It's a 15min ride from kanchanaburi (8km, 200thb by local taxi) The setting is beautiful: luxuriant green garden, thai architecture and very well chosen statues all over the place. The swimming pool is deep and long, perfect for a swim while looking at the river Kwai. The restaurant over the river serves... More

We recently stayed here for one night while part of a tour of central Thailand. Here is the upshot: the grounds are really quite lovely, and the setting is tranquil. But the rooms are very average and the hotel is isolated if you are here for a longer stay without your own transport. The property makes an impression when you... More
